The ultra luxurious 6-star Scenic Eclipse II is the first of its kind with over-sized zero speed stabilizers, 50% larger than comparable vessels,  for the ultimate comfort on the open seas. Purpose built for discovery with a Polar Code 6 rating, the Eclipse II has an ice strengthened hull and features Azipod propulsion and bow thrusters that deliver smooth, precise manoeuvering that enables it to cross the Drake passage much faster than other vessels allowing you much more time in Antarctica and less time on the open sea. However, in keeping with the educational nature of our program, that day or so at sea enables you time to learn from the expert team of naturalists, specialists and glaciologists lead by Director of Discovery Operations Jason Fletcher who has visited Antarctica over 105 times. 

The cabins are large and luxurious with incomparable amenities that are all inclusive. You pay extra for nothing. In fact, the whole cruise is all inclusive but for three things: helicopter excursions (did we mention that there are two Airbus H130-T2 helicopters aboard ship? They are state-of-the-art, among the quietest in operation ); submersible excursions in the 6-seater U-Boat Worx submarine; and a very small number of rare, fine and vintage wines and spirits from the captain's  Chairman's list.
